1791- The nation is divided into Upper and Lower Canada- each with its own gov’t and limited powers(The Canada Act)
The Union Act- Upper and lower Canada are reunited and the new Province of Canada is given authority in domestic issues
The Dominion Act - Given self government- but remained part of the British Empire
