Homily/Reflection Assignment

 

For this assignment,  you will choose a day from the liturgical calendar  (you may use a Sunday if you wish) and focus on the Old Testament reading.  You will be composing a reflection on this reading. While you may include a very brief summary (no more than 1/4 page), the main focus is to be  on your interpretation of the passage.   That is, you will focus on the following:  What can we learn from this passage?;  What is its relevance for today?;  What guidelines is it giving for our daily lives.   You may briefly refer to the Gospel reading for context, but the major focus is to be the Old Testament reading.

You written reflection should adhere to the following guidelines:  1 page (typed, double spaced, size 12 font, Times New Roman.  You are to consult a minimum of 1 commentary source and list that source( full bibliographic information).

The oral presentation should adhere to the following: 2-21/2 minutes in length, prior preparation should be evident (reflection is not just read, a conversational tone is used)
