- When Christians refer to the Old Testament they are speaking of the
first part of the Bible
- The New Testament tells of the ministry of Jesus Christ
- Today we often refer to the Hebrew Scriptures and the Christian
Scriptures
- They are basically the same as the Old and New Testament, but take into
account the Jewish faith

- During the Reformation, Martin Luther decided that only those books
recognized in the Hebrew Bible should be included
- Most protestant bibles do not include these books – but often include
them in a section called the apocrypha
; which means “hidden”
